What We Collect
Price-Quotes Research Lab collects anonymous usage data to improve our research and provide better service. This includes:
- Pages visited, time on site, and scroll depth
- General geographic location (city-level, derived from IP address)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Behavioral interaction patterns (mouse movement characteristics, click patterns) used solely to distinguish human visitors from automated traffic
- Anonymous survey responses submitted through our on-page research tools
What We Don't Collect
- We do not use cookies of any kind
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers unless you voluntarily email us
- We do not use browser fingerprinting libraries
- We do not track users across websites
- IP addresses are cryptographically hashed before storage and cannot be reversed
How We Use Data
Anonymous interaction data helps us understand which research topics are most valuable to consumers, which cities need more pricing coverage, and how visitors engage with our content. This data directly improves the quality and relevance of our published research.
Survey responses are aggregated into industry-level statistics published on our sites. Individual responses are never published or shared.
Third-Party Services
Our sites include:
- Skimlinks (affiliate link management) — may place cookies when you click outbound links to merchant sites
- No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no third-party advertising trackers
Data Retention
Anonymous analytics data is retained for up to 12 months. Aggregated research statistics (which cannot identify any individual) are retained permanently as part of our published research.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about our data practices, contact us at data@price-quotes.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as our research methods evolve. Material changes will be noted with a revised date at the top of this page.
